The Public Services provided by the Village of Pentwater are essential to our community. These include the Pentwater Police Department, the Pentwater Fire Department, the Department of Public Works and the utility companies that supply our gas and electricity.
The Pentwater Fire Department is an all volunteer department that was established March 4, 1872 by the Village of Pentwater. Information dating back as early as the 1860's can be found on fire protection services.
As Pentwater continued to grow there became a need to develop another revenue source as fire equipment was aging and needed replacing. In 1994, a millage was proposed and passed by the Village and Township residents. With the additional revenue the Pentwater Fire Department has been able to make facility upgrades, equipment and apparatus upgrades, as well as provide firefighter training and certifications.
Life Safety is the primary goal and in 2066, the Department implemented a Medical First Responder's unit. All firefighters are either Medical First Responder (MFR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or CPR/AED certified.
