Residents/Visitors > Parks and Trails
There are many parks and trails within and around the Village of Pentwater for the community to enjoy in the summer as well as in the winter.
Charles Mears State Park
Charles Mears State Park is located at the west end of Lowell St. on the shores of Lake Michigan. The Park gains you access to the sandy beach, a fishing pier, picnic area and a playground. The Park is also host to weekly nature programs throughout the spring and summer.
Village Green
The Village Green is located in the heart of the business district and is a welcoming area to residents and visitors alike. The Green is used for numerous events throughout the year including, craft shows and art fairs, seasonal and holiday festivals, and band concerts and farmers markets.
Channel Lane Park
One of our most popular parks located near Lake Michigan on the North Pier, it is a walking and picnic haven for all ages. Located on the property are two picnic pavilions, tables, benches, grills and restroom facilities.
Chester Street Park
Located on the South Pier, the Chester Street Park is another walkers paradise with full access to the South Pier walkway and a great sunset view.
The Village of Pentwater is the destination of beautiful waters, wonderful people, great businesses and an assortment of parks. The North End Park is one of the many parks in our area and is now one of the major projects under way for the Village. Renovations are being made in multiple phases. Phase One's completion includes adult workout equipment, a children's play area, handicap accessible equipment, and new pickleball courts. The next phase will be resurfacing of the basketball and tennis courts with intentions of adding a pavilion and bathrooms in the future.
We hope to renovate and expand the North End Park into something truly special for our community. Our community support throughout the years has been gracious and allows us to continue to look forward to the future of Pentwater.
Pentwater Pathways Cross-Country Ski and Hiking Trail
A 300-plus acre cross-country ski trail located in the Pentwater River State Game Area is home to the outdoor adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts alike. The great location view throughout the trails keeps the cross-country skiers, hikers and trail runners coming back year after year. The trails are for foot-traffic only, bicycles and motorized vehicles are prohibited in this area.
Longbridge Road Bridge Boardwalk
The Longbridge Road Bridge Boardwalk provides a beautiful view of Pentwater Lake and is often home to sunset viewings and aquatic bird watching.
