Village Clerk
A position appointed by the Village Council, the Village Clerk/Treasurer takes on many responsibilities. The Village Clerk is the official record keeper of the Village; all documents, official bonds, papers, files, additional records, and the corporate seal are her jurisdiction.
Clerk Responsibilities
Additionally, the Clerk's responsibilities include:
- Serves as clerk to the Village Council. Calls roll, records official proceedings and authenticates public records.
- Assures that all records of the Village including contracts, deeds, easements, minutes of meetings and other official documents are maintained and that legally acceptable procedures are consistently applied.
- Responsible for administering oaths of office.
- Certifies all ordinances and resolutions enacted by the Village Council and handles issues regarding Village legislation.
- Participates in meetings, conferences, seminars and professional organizations to keep acquainted with requirement changes, technology and approaches to public financial and record management.
Meet the Clerk
Rande Listerman hails from the east side of the state and was the former Treasurer/Deputy Clerk of the Village of Dryden before coming to the Village of Pentwater in November of 2017.
